"More Heart Than Talent" Conference 2009
Jeffery Combs, Shayna Langston and Erica Combs
In 1998, after a successful career in the network marketing and direct sales industry where he achieved multiple six-figure monthly income earnings, Jeffery Combs decided to share his knowledge with fellow entrepreneurs. As the founder and president of Golden Mastermind Seminars, Inc. and through his motivational speaking seminars and training sessions, Jeffery has committed himself to helping people change the way they act and feel in order to achieve their goals and dreams. Having spent fourteen years as an alcoholic and an addict and now having more than twenty-plus years of sobriety and success. Jeffery knows first-hand what it is like to be at your lowest point, feeling helpless and insignificant, then finding the strength from within to make positive changes in your life that lead to rewarding accomplishments. With such a profound understanding of the emotion that caused his own addictions, Jeffery is able to relate to his clients and help them understand and release their own. In his free time, Jeffery takes pride in adding to his collection of classic cars, all of which he has restored to a "better-than-original" state. "Collecting and restoring cars has been a passion of mine since childhood when my father first introduced me to the hobby", says Jeffery. With immense time and attention to detail, Jeffery is able to take something such as an old, beat up car and turn it back into a beautiful work of art that more than resembles it's original condition. It is with similar dedication and patience that Jeffery is able to assist his clients in personal development and growth. An ardent fan of college and professional sports, Jeffery has developed quite a collection of sports memorabilia. In fact, his collecting of more than 350 (and counting) autographed photographs of professional sports players is so large that it is actually one of the largest into he country. Jeffery enjoys watching basketball and baseball, but he has a real affinity to college football and the professional games played in the NFL. Jeffery's love for sports and what the players, teams, and coaches represent are a true testament to the type of "coach" and person that he is... someone who values hard work and dedication, possesses an undying desire to succeed, and above all else, has patience with himself and those around him. As an internationally recognized speaker, author, and trainer, Erica Combs is highly dedicated to her work and her clients. When she is not traveling to seminars or helping others find their success, Erica finds serenity in riding and caring for her two horses Steamer and Tate. Erica began riding horses with her mother at nine months of age and has been an avid rider ever since. "Having horses is natural; it's part of who I am", says Erica. In addition to leisure riding, Erica also competes with Steamer up to five times a year. Through horse training and riding, Erica has learned the absolute necessity and benefit of patience - a skill she uses every day when she is training and coaching her clients. Whether she is working with a client, pursuing a new business venture, or training for a marathon, Erica loves a challenge. She has competed in one full marathon and six half marathons, and hopes to do more competitive running. In April 2008, Erica embarked on a new journey for the mind, body, and spirit, when she began practicing Bikram Yoga - a series of twenty-six yoga postures and two breathing excesses performed for ninety minutes in a heated room. Erica practices "hot yoga" at least five times a week because she says, "It offers an intense mental and physical workout that involves stretching, strength training, and cardio all in one". After each class, Erica finds that she leaves the yoga room with a sense of calm and clarity of mind, a benefit that positively penetrates every facet of her life. Erica knows the importance of taking time for yourself, which is why she loves to get pedicures and facials and, of course, the occasional massage. "I love what I do, but part of being good at what I do and ensuring that my clients get the best is making sure to take care of me and my needs outside of work," says Erica. "A little pampering here and there certainly does the trick"! Erica also loves spending time with her husband, Jeff, and their two dogs, Rex and Trey, whom they refer to as their "puppy children".
